- Cornwall Census - Census records of 1851, 1861, 1871, 1881, and 1891 from Cornwall. The census is one of the most important finding tools in Brittish research. The earliest census of any practical genealogical value was taken in 1841. This census has limitations in its failure to record familial relationships; and the indefinite recording of ages and places of birth, it is not available on this site currently. The 1851 census makes up for these shortcomings and is the key to tieing the pre-registration parish records to the records of later civil registration records. The 1861, 1871, 1881, and 1891 censuses follow in the same pattern as the 1851 census, as will the 1901 census as it becomes available.
